Rhythmic Connections (RC) is a community and friendship group that nurtures and empowers teens of all abilities, including neurodivergent and special needs individuals.

Through yoga, mindfulness and the creative arts, our sessions support participants to:

✔ Explore mindful and joyful movement

✔ Build body and breath awareness

✔ Connect, feel, express and regulate their emotions (including expanding emotional literacy)

✔ Practice communication and social skills (e.g., Asking for help, navigating school transitions, friendship dynamics, and understanding our needs and boundaries)

✔ Cultivate compassion by giving and receiving loving-kindness toward themselves and their peers

  • Through learning pragmatic & mindful conversational skills, we empower teens to build deeper connections and be a part of a supportive community that all have a common love to explore creativity, authenticity and inner wisdom.

  • We hold a safe space for teens to express their emotions through singing, movement, instrument exploration and play, writing, drawing, and other creative modalities.
    These varied forms of expression invite each individual to curiously explore the medium that resonates most with them, allowing for authentic and meaningful self-expression.

    To deepen our emotional awareness, we also use tools such as emotion cards, the feelings wheel, and interactive games. These resources help teens expand their emotional literacy, articulate what they’re feeling, feel their feelings and communicate the type of support they need or do not need.

  • Yoga & musical rhythmic activities can enhance cognitive functions such as learning and memory through physical poses that require focus and repetition and understanding musical patterns that fosters problem-solving abilities and cognitive flexibility.

  • We weave in safe yoga postures (asanas), dance, simple plyometric and isometric exercises (jumps, hops, squats, planks), that support flexibility, strength, balance, and overall motor coordination.

    For every movement and exercise, we offer modified variations to ensure accessibility and safety for teens of all abilities.

  • Another core benefit of Rhythmic Connections is supporting teens in building the courage and inner resources to navigate life’s transitions.
    In RC, we equip our teens with practical tools and practices to help them move through real-life challenges—such as losing friends, starting a first job, changing schools, graduating, hormonal shifts, and discrimination and bullying.

    We encourage them not to avoid these experiences but to meet them with resilience and compassion.

    Our toolkit is designed to help teens feel, regulate, reflect, and respond to life with greater confidence.

  • Practicing verbal expression of feelings and singing can improve speech articulation, fluency, and vocabulary, while playing instruments or engaging in rhythmic activities creates the space for non-verbal communication to be expressed (eye contact, dance and gesture use.)

    For our 15 year old daughter who has a very limited social circle of her age, the interactions at Rhythmic Connections with a peer group she could relate to was a welcome change! She found a forum where she could express herself freely without being judged and enjoyed actively participating in the various activities. Lauren and Estelle have designed a program that accommodates the different levels of capabilities of each individual participant and keep them engaged. Most importantly they have adopted a communication style that provides a safe and happy environment for girls like my daughter who look at the world differently from the rest! These type of programs are hard to come by in Singapore so please keep it going!

  • It’s been wonderful to see my daughter so excited to wake up on Sunday mornings for RC

    My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed the classes offered by Planting Seeds with Kids. Her favorite parts of the sessions are singing and in Savasana, which brings her a sense of peace and relaxation. These classes have given her a valuable opportunity to bond with other similar teens, something she rarely experiences in her school environment. It’s been wonderful to see her so excited to wake up on Sunday mornings, eager to attend the classes. This level of enthusiasm has been a rare and delightful change for her.

    For years, I have been searching for classes that provide emotional support for my teenage daughter, who is easily anxious. I am so glad I found Planting Seeds with Kids.
